Valentine's Day Date Ideas

Looking for a few things to do with your sweetheart this Thursday in the Triad? Want to get together with your gals and celebrate galentine's day? Whatever you are doing to celebrate the ones you love, these ideas may help you wow your significant other and range from free to cost effective!

1. Grab Something Sweet!

Sweets for your sweet are always a good idea on Valentine's day. There are tons of cool places to try in the Triad from cupcake shops like Maxie B's and Easy Peasy, to my personal favorite Cheesecakes By Alex, to the traditional Krispy Kreme. Or go all out and pick up a custom box of chocolates from Black Mountain Chocolate! Taking your partner out for dessert can be cheaper than a whole meal and just as loving and romantic.

2. Schedule a Couples Spa Experience!

Maybe you have to wait until the weekend to pamper your significant other, but those who respond to touch may love a pedicure or a massage from places like A to Zen or Balance Day Spa. Or even grab your gal pals and schedule your mani-pedis at one of the many nail salons in the Triad! Taking time to relax and reconnect can be just what you need!

3. Go Outside!

Of course weather depending, but if the day is sunny, escape and get back to nature in one of the many parks nearby! Checkout the trails of Battleground Park, take a day trip to Pilot Mountain, or check out a park in your own backyard!

4. Go on a Brunch or Lunch Date!

Lunch can be cheaper and more cost effective for couples on a tight budget. Sometimes my husband and I work opposite schedules only allowing us to have brunch together. This can be just as romantic as a sit down dinner. There are many fabulous places to get brunch in the area such as Dames Chicken and Waffles or Scrambled!

5. Have a Staycation!

Can't get a sitter? Can't play hooky the next day? On a budget? Make a tent fort in your living room, pop in your wedding video or first date movie, pop some popcorn, put on a cute outfit, and camp out in the comforts of your own home. Want to make things fancy? Light a few candles, cook her favorite meal (mac-n-cheese), and put candy in the popcorn, call it a delicacy! Don't let your budget keep you from letting the romance SPARKLE!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Love,

Amanda
